Government Matters: Diana Bianchi Tags: 2022 Sammies, Government Matters Series Back to All Videos The director of the Eunice Kennedy Shriver National Institute of Child Health and Human Development (NICHD) at the National Institutes of Health (NIH), Dr. Diana Bianchi, helped launch several large-scale studies during the Covid-19 pandemic. She discussed some of this research on Government Matters. The research showed the Covid-19 vaccine does not cause adverse effects in pregnant women, said Bianchi.She said her institute has advocated strongly for safely including pregnant women, who were formerly considered part of a vulnerable population, in research protocols.When it became clear that Covid-19 poses a risk of multisystem inflammatory syndrome in children (MIS-C), Bianchi and her colleagues did studies about risk and treatments.
