Recognized at the 2025 Sammies gala, this group of honorees exemplifies public service at its most innovative. Their groundbreaking achievements demonstrate how career civil servants work to build a better future for us all.

The Samuel J. Heyman Service to America Medals® recognize nonpartisan, career federal employees who have made outstanding contributions to our country. Unlike past years, when honorees were recognized by individual categories, the 2025 program celebrates these individuals and teams in three distinct groups, reflecting their wide range of critical work that benefits the nation. Meet the 2025 Sammies honorees who ensure our government works better for all of us.

The Partnership for Public Service recognized 23 individuals and teams as 2025 Samuel J. Heyman Service to America Medals® honorees. This year’s honorees were recognized in three groups. The honorees from the first group persisted to find answers to long-standing national challenges.

The Partnership for Public Service recognized the 2025 Samuel J. Heyman Service to America Medals® honorees at its 24th annual awards ceremony on Tuesday, June 17, at the Johns Hopkins University Bloomberg Center in Washington, D.C. 

The Partnership for Public Service is accepting nominations for the 2025 Samuel J. Heyman Service to America Medals® program, the premier awards ceremony for career federal employees. 

On Sept. 11, the 23rd annual Samuel J. Heyman Service to America Medals® gala took place in Washington, D.C., to honor exceptional public servants who are dedicated to serving our nation. At the gala, the Partnership presented its 2024 Spirit of Service Award to the co-founders of “A Starting Point,” Chris Evans, Mark Kassen and Joe Kiani.

On Wednesday, Sept. 11, the Partnership or Public Service hosted the 23^rd annual Samuel J. Heyman Service to America Medals® at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington, D.C.

This year, we showcased some of our 2024 finalists in the “Sammies Virtual Series,” a four-part LinkedIn Live event featuring several Service to America Medals nominees.

This year, two finalists for the Partnership for Public Service’s 23rd annual Samuel J. Heyman Service to America Medals® program demonstrated innovative strategies for implementing large-scale federal legislation.

On July 24, the Partnership for Public Service announced that Yan Ping (Judy) Chen and Jay D. Evans from the Department of Agriculture won the 2024 Samuel J. Heyman Service to America Medals® People’s Choice Award.
